I had a lot of spare fabric, so i drew inspiration from the flowers that geisha wear in their hair. I will try and post a tutorial soon.
I had a lot of spare fabric, so i drew inspiration from the flowers that geisha wear in their hair. I will try and post a tutorial soon.
You can start with any size circle that you want. I prefer a circle with a 4cm radius. The blue and purple flower was made with a 4cm radius. The red one with a 3cm radius.
Once you have decided on a circle size . Choose some fabric and pin the paper circle onto the fabric.
Then cut out the circle. This doesn't have to be very neat but try to keep to the edge.
Then take out all of the pins and you will be left with a circle of fabric.
Then take some thread and sew around the edge of the circle. This also doesn't have to be super neat.
After you have finished sewing around the fabric. Sart to tug the string so that the fabric starts to gather and bunch.
Then take a bit of the stuffing and place it into the centre of your pouch.
Then start to pull some more until you can't see the stuffing.
After you have made the pouch. Sew it so it so that the stuffing doesn't come out.
Then pull the thread through the middle of your puffy pouch.
The split the pouch into three sections. And don't to pull tight after each one.
Then split each section into two and a flower will start to form.
You can add as many or as little sections as you want.
Then after you are happy with the flower add a button to the centre of your flower by sewing it in. Then your done!
You can add beads as well it all depends on you personal taste.
