Combination of puffy shorts with a top, with pockets in it!

This fits perfectly to everybody and it feels so comfortable! I was inspired by several items and I combined them in one piece. Although it might look complicated, it is very easy to make! I'm not a great sewer but I fixed this in five hours. Have fun! :) ps In the picture I knotted small wires around the two strips at the top, just for decoration.

Description

This fits perfectly to everybody and it feels so comfortable! I was inspired by several items and I combined them in one piece. Although it might look complicated, it is very easy to make! Instructions

  1. Small cimg2498 1271110634

    Measure your sizes.

  2. Small cimg2500 1271110989

Start with the high waist band. Fold a strip of fabric in two and sew it together inside out. Mine was 80cm long and 5 cm in width (after folding in two).

  3. Small cimg2501 1271111145

Turn it outside in and iron it flat. Pull a piece of elastic band through it that is slightly shorter than the band. Fix the ends of the elastic band at the ends of the fabric band, so that the fabric band wrinkles a bit.

  4. Small cimg2502 1271111196

For the trousers-part you need four pieces of fabric, two as shown in the image and two with mirrored shape. You just cut out a rectangle, mine had sides of 40cm and 70cm (the 70cm was a bit to long so if you don't have enough fabric you can skip some here). The round lug will be the pocket, make it in the shape you like. Sew the sides of the four pieces together, but do not sew the seam at the front and the back entirely: sew only 10 centimeters in the middle of the back seam and for the front seam sew about 30 centimeters from the top. (this part is complicated to explain, if you have questions you can always email me!)

  5. Small cimg2504 1271111229

Sew the top side of the trousers to the waist band with pleats in it. The contour of the trousers was twice as big as the contour of the waist band: the waist band has a length of 80 centimeters, the 4 parts of the trousers together have a contour of 160 centimeters. In this way the trousers puff very much, if you want less puff effect, just take less fabric for the trousers.

  6. Small cimg2506 1271111258

The insides of the trousers pipes can be closed now. The cross part should be a bit baggy. I did this part by trial and error: fit it on and look in the mirror how the fabric falls around your body. Finish the ends of the trousers: make a large zoom where you can pull elastic band through, to make it puff.

At the back side you can sew in the zipper. If your bottom is not very much wider than the width just below your breasts, you don't need a zipper because you allready have an elastic band. Try it on to be sure. I made a zipper in it, because then the waist band stays tight.

  8. Small cimg2518 1271112495

For the top part, cut out two pieces of fabric (see the image for the shape). I finished the edges with a simple zigzag.

  9. Small cimg2508 1271111318

Sew it on to the waist band with pleats. Let them overlap a bit in the middle, to prevent people viewing :)

Make a knot of the two stripes in your neck and... Tadaaaaaa! :D
