This week I'm making a set of knuckle rings for my favourite rapping rockstar, Princess Superstar in Crafter To The Stars. Princess Superstar has been inspiring me since we started playing her records as students and I've been lucky enough to interview her for Snippets and have a singing lesson from her since. I was super excited to get the chance to craft for her and even more excited to see her rocking these knuckle rings on the red carpet!
Start by tracing around your logo on to pieces of paper. Trace the individual letters on to a piece of paper and then draw an outline by tracing around the letters leaving a small margin. The trickiest part of this project is getting the scale of your rings just right - remember you want your templates to be 7x the finished size of the ring. P.S. using your computer screen as a light box works great!
Cut out the templates.
Place some blue-tack on to the back of the margin and stick down on to white shrink plastic.
Cut out the shrink plastic outlines.
Now trace around the letters on to black shrink plastic.
Cut these out.
Keep going until you have all the letters for your rings!
Shrink down all the pieces in the oven until small.
Start assembling the rings by carefully glueing the letters in place.
When you're finished, gather four rings.
Place them on your fingers to get the sizing right.
Glue on to the back of your rings.
You're all finished!
