I make a lot of corsages, and I generally stick to the same method, but this time I mixed it up a little by choosing colours I wouldn't generally go for and a new bead. I think it turned out rather well!
I make a lot of corsages, and I generally stick to the same method, but this time I mixed it up a little by choosing colours I wouldn't generally go for and a new bead. I think it turned out rather well!
Begin by casting onto your needle. I would suggest that the it needs to be quite long as it will be turned into a circle at the end.
Now, knit roughly 7-8 rows onto the needle, and cast off so you're left with a strip.
Now, thread your darning needle with the same wool, so it doesn't show and thread it in and out of one side of the strip. When you pull it together, it should rouche on one side to leave you with a circle shape. After doing this, stitch up the two ends to complete the circle.
Next, begin to decorate the centre of your corsage. I cut up strips of left over ribbon, frayed them, and then sewed a bead into the middle. I think it looks kinda fireworky!
One you've decorated the centre of the corsage, you're almost ready to finish up! Cut a circle out of matching felt and use a glue gun to stick it one. You could alyways superglue it or even sew it on if you wish. And finally glue your brooch pin to the felt. Voila!
