This was pretty easy I used McCalls M4874. I didn't put a liner in it I thought it would be cool see through.The material I used was very thin. I've never done a how-to before but I'm gonna give it a try.

ok you need to cut two of these pieces for front and back.
then you will cut the opening for the neck.
this is what it looks like opened up. Now you go ahead and hem all along the edges on both pieces.
SEWED THEM TOGEThis is where I sewed them together at these points.
If you want it to gather then you need to mark your material like this on both the right and left sides of the front piece.
lay it flat and pin the two pieces all around the whole poncho and make your stitches for your tie string.1/2 of an inch apart
any type of string will work make your own or a piece of yarn a shoe string whatever you prefer and your done.
