Make yourself a unique cameo necklace.
I have made a skull with roses, but use your imagination to make your own personal statement, following the same basic method.

You Will Need (6 things)

  • 1 x small piece Polymer Clay in red, black, green and white
  • Pendant(s) setting
  • Varnish
  • epoxy Glue
  • Oven
  • cocktail Sticks

Steps (12 steps, 120 minutes)

  1. 1

First of all, gather together all the items you need on a smooth clean surface:
    Pendant setting
Polymer clay red, black, green and white
Shaping tools ( I use wooden cocktail sticks with one end blunted)

  2. 2

Take a small piece of white polymer clay about the size of a baked bean and shape like this:

  3. 3

Using cocktail stick, mark mouth and teeth, a triangle for nose and round hollows for eyes.
Make this first and lay aside to avoid getting any of the darker colours contaminating it.

  4. 4

Take some red polymer clay, and shape roughy to fit into setting

  5. 5

Place into setting and gently coax into shape....this is easier if you use a setting with a solid back.
Mine is hollow, so I have to be extra careful!

  6. 6

Gently lay the skull in position and press lightly into place

  7. 7

Make tiny leaves from green clay, and tiny roses by making long flat strips and rolling them into a rose-like shape, gently pace in position and press lightly into place.
Roll out a long thin sausage of green polymer clay for vines

  8. 8

Bend and twist vines, and place in postion, pressing gently into place

Now put it all into oven at 110 degrees C, for 30 minutes

  9. 9

Take from oven, allow to cool, and remove cameo from setting ( it will be loose, but may need eased out with a pin if you have used a setting with a solid back)

  10. 10

Spray cameo with clear gloss varnish

  11. 11

Glue cameo into place using 2 - part epoxy glue

  12. 12

Hang on a black velvet ribbon.

    Finished !
