About
I'm really inspired by pink & green decor this summer and wanted to create a tropical inspired table. When I spotted the Tropical Toucan print from Dalston Mill Fabrics, I knew it would look perfect as a tablecloth combined with dusty pink table runners.

1
Gather your fabrics. You want a nice green tropical print for the tablecloth and a dusty rose or pink for the runners.
-
2
Lay the fabric on the table and cut to the correct size.
Luckily, the fabric I ordered was already the perfect size, so I only needed to cut the fabric for the table runners in half.
-
3
Find some ribbon that matches the table runner fabric nicely and is at least 1" wide to use as a trim for the edges.
-
4
Fold the fabric in half width ways.
-
5
Use the edge of a pair of scissors to score along the folded edge.
-
6
Repeat along the whole length of ribbon.
-
7
Pin the ribbon along one edge of the tablecloth fabric.
-
8
Sew along the ribbon.
-
9
Trim off any excess ribbon and take a second length of scored ribbon for the next edge.
-
10
Fold over half an inch of the edge of the ribbon under and score.
-
11
Fold the edge underneath and then fold in half so that the raw edge is inside the ribbon.
-
12
Line up the end of the ribbon with the end of the table cloth and pin neatly in place.
-
13
Pin the remaining ribbon along the top edge of the table cloth.
-
14
Sew in place and repeat for the other two edges of the tablecloth.
-
15
Iron the tablecloth and lay on your table.
-
16
Repeat this process to make two table runners from the contrasting fabric.
-
17
Iron the table runners and lay them on your table.
-
18
Create a centrepiece in the middle of the table. I put cactus in belljars and added a couple of plants.
-
19
Set the table with gold charger plates or placemats.
-
20
I added some gold candle holder and succulent tea lights along the centre of the table.
-
21
I then set the table with copper / gold cutlery and a mix of pink and green plates.

Your table is now perfectly set for a tropical dinner party!
