This is a simple and easy project and great for kids to do. Make great Christmas gifts for the little ones to give out as well. The reason it didn't cost anything is because I used ribbon scraps and got the pine cones from my grandmothers tree, and glitter glue I already had.
This is a simple and easy project and great for kids to do. Make great Christmas gifts for the little ones to give out as well. The reason it didn't cost anything is because I used ribbon scraps and got the pine cones from my grandmothers tree, and glitter glue I already had.
I took the pine cones from my grandma's pine tree and dried them in the oven for 30-45 minutes on 250 degrees. This will ensure that all creepy crawlies are gone. *Make sure it is one single layer and you put foil down first, sap will drip out and you don't want to destroy a good cookie sheet
Once they are cooled off you can either tie or hot glue a ribbon bow to the stem of the pine cone and do the same for a hanging loop. I tested mine hanging on the tree to make sure it was secure.
This is the same step as #2 just a different look to them.
Lastly an option you can do is add glitter glue (or glue and sprinkle glitter which ever you have available would work) to the ends all over the cone to make it have some glitz and glam and sparkle up the tree. You could even leave them plan like you see in Step 3.
