I've seen these boxes for sale on Etsy, but found a free template online. They're so fun and easy to make!
I've seen these boxes for sale on Etsy, but found a free template online. They're so fun and easy to make!
First you will need to grab the template. I got this template from the following site: http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/puffy.htm I cut out the template and traced it on the back side of my cardstock. You'll need to use a heavier cardstock when making this box.
Next, cut out the design you traced on your cardstock.
Now it's time to score the dotted lines from the template on your cardstock. This was the tricky part for me. To make sure I accurately traced the curved lines I placed the template over my cardstock and traced the dotted lines with my scoring tool (I used a Phillip's Head Screwdriver). This left a faint indention on my cardstock which I was able to go back over with my scoring tool. This step is important because the scoring makes it easier to fold the box correctly.
Now it's time to start folding where you scored.
Now put glue on the tab shown in this picture. Fold the other side over and adhere the glued tab to it. Let it dry. I placed mine inside a book to ensure that the tab stayed in place while it was drying.
Once the glue has dried, you can "assemble" your box. Just fold the ends toward the inside of the box as shown.
And you're done! This box can be used to package party favors or any small gift. HAPPY FOLDING!!!
