About
This project can be simple or very difficult, it all depends on the size of the glass, the picture frame and the complexity of the picture. the one in the picture took over 15 hours of work all together. I dont know why the picture is upside down (Sorry). **WARNING this project is working with sharp glass and it is very easy to cut yourself. Please use safety glasses if you are chipping glass**

You Will Need (6 things)
- many colors Stained Glass
- Glue That Works With Glassweldbond works great
- Picture Frame desired size
- Grout
- Tweezers
- Glass Chippers Or Prechipped Glass
Steps (10 steps, 300 minutes)
-
1
Gather materials. Chip your glass to the size you want to work with if needed. (you can get prechipped glass at craft stores.
-
2
Choose the design you want, I tend to choose designs with not so many details, because they are hard to do in such a small area.
-
3
put the picture behind the glass in the picture frame and make sure its where you want it. (its almost impossible to move it after you glue down pieces.)
-
4
get an idea of where you plan to lay each piece. (Ive seen people mark it with numbers and tape to keep it.)
-
5
After you get an idea on where you want your pieces, start gluing, leaving space between pieces for grout. This is the longest and most annoying step. The tweezers really come in handy at this point.
-
6
when your finally done gluing all the pieces let it set overnight to dry. (If you skip this step you risk loosing pieces while putting the grout on.)
-
7
Grout time. Mix the grout according to the instructions, only a small amount, just enough to cover the picture.
-
8
Smooth some grout on the picture making sure to fill all cracks. You should use rubber gloves when handling grout, its really nasty to get on your skin and can cause reactions.
-
9
before the grout can dry make sure you get it off the glass so its only in the cracks, once it drys it stays.
-
10
once the grout is dry you can take an old toothbrush and toothpick and clean up the edges of the glass. Make it look spiffy after all your work :)
