When I was younger my family and I lived in a house that had a plum tree in the back yard. Every summer the tree became almost completely purple with plums, so my mother found a German recipe that she got from her mother and made A LOT of Pfaumenkuchen. We ate as much as we could and gave some to our neighbors, but we still had a lot left, so my mom had me sell a bunch when I had my little lemonade stands. To people walking by cold lemonade and plum cake sounded on a hot Californian summer day, so I ended up making about 20-50 $ per lemonade stand. My birthday was last Saturday, and me and my mom decided to make Pfaumenkuchen instead of buying a cake.

Knead the dough, then leave it in awarm place for about 30 minutes, or until its volume doubles.
Meanwhile preheat your oven at 350F (176C) and slice up the plums.
When the dough is ready it should look like this.

Lay the doughin the pan and press it along the edges, then cut off the extra bits.
Fill the bottom off the dough with the plum slices.
Bake the cake for 50-60 minutes. Meanwhile mix 1 tablespoon sugar, the cinnamon, and the almonds together. When the cake is done baking sprinkle on the topping before the cakes gets cold.
