I have many boring old t-shirts that I never use in my wardrobe. I thought I'd spice one up by adding a crocheted collar to it and rolling up the sleeves. Here's how I did it!
I have many boring old t-shirts that I never use in my wardrobe. I thought I'd spice one up by adding a crocheted collar to it and rolling up the sleeves. Here's how I did it!
Start by measuring how much of the crocheted ribbon you need to go around the collar in the design you want. I've done a peter pan type of collar. Cut the ribbon to the desired length.
Sew the edges of the ribbon by folding the raw edge over and sewing with needle and thread.
Pin the ribbon to the t-shirt.
Sew the ribbon onto the t-shirt.
Use your scissors and cut away the excess fabric. You want the neckline to be where the ribbon is sewn on. But be careful not to cut into the stitches that attaches the ribbon to the t-shirt.
Roll up the sleeves, and add a stitch or two if you want it to stay rolled up.
Enjoy your finished top!
