Last year I started a tradition of making homemade Christmas Tree ornaments for my extended family. This year I decided to make tie-dye inspired peace signs, complete with a piece of hemp chord to hang them with. (2010)
Last year I started a tradition of making homemade Christmas Tree ornaments for my extended family. This year I decided to make tie-dye inspired peace signs, complete with a piece of hemp chord to hang them with. (2010)
I started with a basic salt dough mix. Kneading the dough until it was nice and manageable. I rolled the dough into various peace sign shape and designs, kneading as needed.
I rolled dough into rope and discs to create the peace signs in circular and heart shapes.
The pieces were all baked in an oven at 250 degrees F, for lengths of time variable by the thickness and design.
I mixed colors to give a marbling or tie dye effect.
Each peace sign was painted and let to dry.
I tied each with a piece of hemp chord.
Ready to hang! (http://craftrebel.blogspot.com/2011/03/peace-sign-ornaments.html)
