Pin the rectangles with right sides together along the long edges to make a long strip of assorted patterned fabrics. Stitch the long edges, taking a 1 cm (3⁄8 in) seam allowance. Press the seams open.
Fold the scarf lengthwise in half. Pin the raw edges together, matching the seams. Stitch the raw edges, taking a 1 cm (3⁄8 in) seam allowance and leaving a 10 cm (4 in) gap to turn the scarf right side out. Clip the corners then turn the scarf to the right side by pulling it through the gap. Press the scarf along the seam then press along the fold. Slipstitch the gap closed, see Hand Stitches.
