Well I had bought two pairs of boots like.. a year ago - a black and a white pair - because they were for cheaps! I've noticed I don't really wear my white ones as often as I used to - they're kinda boring now, I guess? - so I decided to make some panda boooots x3 P.S. Sorry there are so many steps - I just like being thorough ^^; (Sorry for crappy main project image, haw haw)

Description

Well I had bought two pairs of boots like.. a year ago - a black and a white pair - because they were for cheaps! I've noticed I don't really wear my white ones as often as I used to - they're kinda boring now, I guess? - so I decided to make some panda boooots x3 P.S. Instructions

Collect suppliiies~ A 10x10" piece of fabric is more than enough,a comfortable piece - though if you only have little pieces, that's fine, too. You can recycle pieces of paper and be sure to have a marker that you'll be able to see without it sinking through the fabric. Cloth scissors AND regular scissors. Or a pair of regular scissors to taken it all over, you know? Never cut paper or anything other than thread/cloth/yarn with cloth scissors - do as I say, not as I do! Haw haw Liquid FUSION Clear Uerthane Glue. Originally I was gonna use gorilla glue but it was all dried out and then I learned that it bubbles up anyways, so not a good idea! I got this other glue at Michael's for 6 or 7 dollars and it sounds pretty legit. So far so good - hopefully it has longevity. ( Haha, tablespoon.) (P.S. The ingredients says 2 boots because you need one for each foot! =D )

Roughly trace the toe of the shoe and then map out the face you want - cute! You can get some cute face ideas by searching "panda" on CU+K!

(You might need to open up the picture to see the eye shape I made - you don't need to, make this your own!, it's just to show you what I did) Cut out the shape right to the edge - you don't need any seam allowance! Eye holes are not necessary (especially if you end up finding googly eyes on a whim). Double-over a piece of your fabric that has enough room for your eye piece. Have the fabric folded right sides in and either hold it down really well while your cutting or pin it all together and cut around it. You need four of these in total so you need to do this step two times. IF YOU DECIDE NO EYEHOLES, SKIP STEP 4~

  4. Small photo7 1271107931

Use the eyehole you cut out of your pattern to mark spots on the backs of your cloth and then gently pinch the fabric through the circle halfways and follow the semicircle. ( The shiny side of my fabric is the right side) Be sure to do this to all four eye pieces.

Get another piece of cloth that you can fold in half and draw out a little nose and mouth, or just a nose, or just a mouth! Be sure you give yourself enough to hold onto while you're cutting them out. You need two of these in total, be sure!

  6. Small photo10 1271109680

Kind of a tricky part - ears! If you don't want ears, you don't have to do this step, but I think they're really cuuuute. The initial shape is a half circle with two angled rectangles with an empty upside V in the middle. Fold along the dashed line and then tuck the two sides together - when you glue the fabric down like this, the ears will stand up!

  7. Small photo11 1271110151

Cut out four of the ears shapes! I ended up doing the fold-over technique again, haw haw.

  8. Small photo13 1271110492

Whew! More than half way there! This is what you should have so far: 4 black eye pieces 2 noses/mouths 4 ears pieces Get your glue and paper clips ready~

  9. Small photo14 1271110744

Glue the upside down V shut and try to make the edges as close to a straight line as possible. Put a paper clip over the glued edges to hold them together. Do this to all four ear pieces and set them aside - they'll need to dry for about an hour (two, if you want to be sure!).

  10. Small photo16 1271112608

--> Elapsed time: About an hour or two. During that time, glue on all your pieces and maybe even your googly eyes if you want them =o Fold the flat edges forward, right sides together, apply glue to the edge.

  11. Small photo17 1271113012

Press and hold the glue-ee edge to the boot and keep applying pressure for 5 minutes or so - if you take your fingers up, it'll come right up! =o Repeat for all the other ears.

Kapow! You did it! Yeyyyy! Another good idea would be to weather-proof these~ They sell weather-proofing spray =o Probably at Home Depot or something. Hope you enjoyed thisss~ <3
