Description

Here is an easy watercolour painting that you and your kids can make in anticipation of Spring.

Instructions

  1. Small 2018 03 15 164850 dsc 0169

Tape down your paper. This will leave a nice white border for your art work.

  2. Small 2018 03 15 164930 dsc 0172

Paint 3/4's of your paper with water first and then add some blue paint. To create nice clouds blot some of the paint off with a scrunched up kleenex.

  3. Small 2018 03 15 165116 dsc 0177

Add some green in the lower end of the paper for the grass. Let the background dry. Mix up some watery black or dark brown paint. It needs to be an inky consistency. Paint a tree trunk with a thin brush. Add some drops of this watery paint at the top of the trunk you painted. I use an eye dropper for this. Using the straw, blow in some branches rolling the bead of paint up with the straw. You may want to practice this on some scrap paper first.

  4. Small 2018 03 15 165452 dsc 0175

Let the tree dry. Add some spring blossoms with a q-tip and some pink or purple paint.

  5. Small 2018 03 15 165537 dsc 0182

When the entire painting has dried remove tape.

    Done!
