My sister bought me this awesome expandable yet compact purse. Unfortunately, a cheap pen exploded in the front pocket the very first week I had it. I mulled some ideas around for a while and finally decided to explode some more ink on it, but this time with purpose and flair! The inspiration for the pattern was a 19th century crazy quilt I saw in a magazine. Be kind - this is my first posting and my first tutorial. Thanks! Your Friendly Neighborhood Frustrated Crafter.

Get a purse! (No prior ink explosion necessary.) Find a pencil... Grab some permanent markers and fabric markers! Note on the fabric markers - read all the directions, they might need a heat-set before you can tote around your oh-so-stylish new tote!
Sketch on some cool designs - I used a regular #2 (aka HB) pencil. If you aren't happy with the sketched design, you can always erase (depending on the fabric), wash out, or just paint/marker over. Don't make sketches in Permanent marker unless you're super-confident.
Start painting! (Or, I guess that would be "markering" in my case...) I chose a crazy-quilt motif and even painted in some "lace".
TA DA!!!
