I made a jar of them for my fiance before he came back from sea last time. I put them in the box of things I made and gathered together for him. I put a little label quote on the jar. In case it's not too clear the quote says; "If I could reach up and grab a star for everytime you make me smile, I'd be holding the entire night sky in the palm of my hand". I was going to put love quotes in all of the stars, but I was lazy, so didn't :P.

To make a star you start with a long thin strip of paper. You are to make an almost ribbon shape, with one side incredably long and the other very short.
Pull the long end of the ribbon through the loop to make a knot. Don't pull it so tight that the paper scrunches or rips. You should end up with a little pentagon with a short and long bit sticking out.
Tear off the short end of the ribbon.
Turn the pentagon over and fold the long ribbon towards the torn bit and then fold it over.
Keep folding, until you have a little pentagon with a small flappy bit. Tuck the flappy bit inside the pentagon, you may have to cut a little off if it's too long.
Take the pentagon between your fingers and push so there is a little dent in each side. This will form the points of the star.
And you have a star. That one I made was a little wonky, but you probably get the picture...if I was clear at all in the tutorial :P.
