This is a Japanese shuriken, also known as a throwing star and a ninja star. A shuriken should be hidden before it is thrown. Try to spin it!

This is a Japanese shuriken, also known as a throwing star and a ninja star. A shuriken should be hidden before it is thrown. Try to spin it!

Instructions

    Start white side up. Fold in half both ways and crease both diagonals.

    Turn the paper over and fold a corner to the center, crease, and unfold. Repeat three times.

    Fold the lower edge to the center, crease, and unfold. Repeat three times.

    Fold the center of the left and right sides into the middle. Let the upper edges fold in, forming points at either end.

    Fold the lower right corner to match the dotted line, then unfold.

    Fold the lower left flap downward.

    Fold the upper left flap upward.

    Repeat step 5, then repeat steps 6–8 two more times.

    Fold the flaps over in turn. You’ll need to temporarily undo the first to complete the last.

    Turn the paper over for the completed model.
