This was my gift to my high school math teacher. I'd been with him for three years--the first in Advanced Algebra, the second as his teacher's assistant, and the final year in his AP Statistics course--and on top of that, he had written quite a few letters of recommendations for me. He's always commenting on my paper creations so I decided to make him a mobile-an origami mobile, to be exact. First I made the origami kusudama and cubes. Then, before closing off each one, I inserted a bead attached to a string into the origami ball or cube so that I could hang the model onto the mobile. I cut up a clothes hanger and used pliers to roll each end into a loop on which I hung the origami. Then I connected all the pieces of clothes hanger together to form the lovely mobile that greets your eyes above. ^^
