Origami has been a passion of mine for a while now and admittedly i am a nerd so I fused both of these things together with this origami DNA model. For the stand I used a bent wire clothes hanger.

Like most origami it starts with a square. Fold the square in half. Then cut along the crease.
Repeat step one on each half.
Fold one of these quarter peices in half then fold the upper and lower edges into the center.
Fold in half in the other direction then fold to line up top and bottom edges with the center crease.
Repeat in the other direction.
The crossing folds create a square. Fold so that the flaps are on the outside and the square is perpendicular to the legs. This completes one module
You will want at least 8 modules. I like using two colors.
Take one of each color and face them opposite directions. Interlace the flaps of each piece. Fold each side to secure.
Take the unlinked side of the module and fold each corner back to make a square.
Insert these tabs into the pocket of the linked module.
Continue the pattern as long as you want.
Give a little twist and TADA. Origami DNA.
