We've been baking up a storm in the kitchen at CO+K recently but we're never sure what to put our baked treats in to give them away afterwards. When Maemae & Co designed us a custom stamp, we knew it would look perfect on an origami box, ideal for giving baking to our friends!
We've been baking up a storm in the kitchen at CO+K recently but we're never sure what to put our baked treats in to give them away afterwards. When Maemae & Co designed us a custom stamp, we knew it would look perfect on an origami box, ideal for giving baking to our friends!
Start with two squares of card. The card for the lid should be slightly larger than the card for the bottom, so that it fits together nicely.
Starting with the smaller rectangle, fold the square in half vertically, unfold and then fold in half horizontally.
Fold all of the corners in so that their tip touches the middle and creates a diamond shape. Rotate again so it's a square.
Fold the left and right sides in so that the meet in the middle.
Unfold the folds you made in the previous step.
Fold out the left and right sides.
Fold the top edge down so that it meets in the middle.
Fold the bottom edge up so it meets in the middle.
Fold the left and right sides up so that their edge is in line with the folds around the middle square of the box.
Unfold and then fold the sides down in the same way.
Unfold and then unfold the top and bottom edges so that they're sticking up. Your box should be starting to take form.
Fold the left side into the middle, so that it slips down into the box.
Repeat with the right hand side and the bottom of your box is done.
Repeat steps 1-8 and then turn your card over.
Stamp the middle of the square.
Leave to dry and then repeat steps 9 - 13 to complete the top of the box.
Slip the lid onto the bottom of the box.
Fill with cookies, macaroons or any baked treats you like!
