I ordered some of my digitally designed greeting cards to be professionally printed. I put them in a small plastic tray from the dollar store. Each of the designs came with what I call an "index card", which shows a small picture of the design, and how many copies of that design I ordered. I tuck the "index card" in front of the multiple copies of that card, and on it, I jot down the name of the person I send the card to! That way, I won't embarrass myself by sending the same card to the same person. You could easily do this with handmade cards, by making your own "index card". Just take a pic of your card and print out your own.
