Is the neck of your turtleneck too tight?

Is the neck of your turtleneck too tight? For me, it's a common problem. A seam ripper, some piping, a few buttons, a needle and thread... A new look that doesn't cut off your breathing! (Cost me nothing- the piping was leftover from another project, a friend had given me the sweater, and the vintage buttons were from a stash I picked up when my aunt passed away)

Instructions

  1. Small 5051009946 9f38650835

This was the normal neckline of the sweater... and a bit too tight for me.

  2. Small 5051011732 f70a10a7de

I unfolded the neckline and found that the seam was on the side (matched a shoulder seam).

  3. Small 5051013620 5a43733f53

I used a seam ripper to open the side seam of the neckline.

  4. Small 5050397317 6e0b950d5f

I then used the piping sewn to finish the raw edge.

  5. Small 5051017002 018af2f6b1

I then took 3 buttons and added them to the front flap for a new look.

  6. Small 5050401207 53daf95971

    Here's the finished product!
