Wipe clean your shoes in preparation.
Cut out eight small rectangles from a vintage book, and two long thin strips the length of the heel of your shoes. Cut out two smaller rectangles and strips to fit on the toe of your shoes.
Paint a thin strip of Mod Podge down the centre of each of the rectangles and press one on top of the other to form two small books.
Paint a small blob of Mod Podge onto the front of each shoe and position the small rectangle at an angle, then place the small strip in the centre to form a book spine.
Paint a strip of Mod Podge down the back of the heel of the shoe, and position each book just below the rim. Press firmly so it sticks well. When it is secure place the longer strip down the centre of the book and onto the rest of the shoe for a bookmark effect.
Leave everything to dry overnight. Cover the front design and every page of the book on the heel with another coat of Mod Podge - it will feel a bit more crisp and resilient after this. Leave to dry overnight and then strut your stuff!
