This piece was recently showed, along with the bulk of my work at the Norwalk Inside/Out Art Walk hosted in my home state of Connecticut. The inspiration for the piece came from my affinity of all things vintage. His face is made of Crayola Model magic an air drying clay that I find fairly durable, easily sculpted, easily painted and is inexpensive. The body, arms, legs and feet are made of balsa but any easily carved wood will suffice. His gloves are made of an old pair of rear view window ornaments, painted black. He's painted in grey scale to add to the vintage motif. Please note that the estimated time on this project is listed as 10hrs but its by no means a concrete figure and includes the estimated time for the clay to fully dry before painting. I'll be sure to post up some new projects soon as well as some How To's soon. Be sure to check out my website, like it on facebook and become part of my growing circle of friends and fans.
