About
My first idea was work with old newspapers but I changed my opinion as soon as I saw these ancient scores at Els Encants Market in Barcelona. These are 1869 french scores of Auguste Durand's work for piano, violin and cello, called Méditation and dedicated to "Princesse Mathilde". Lots of history contained here... Anyhow, sacrilege feelings a part, here you are a tutorial to transform old scores into a clutch preseving them

You Will Need (12 things)
- Sheet Music Scores
- Needle And Thread Or Sewing Machine
- Plastic Folder
- Fabric
- Organza
- Spray Varnish
- Spray Glue
- Bias Tape
- Scissors
- Pin(s)
- Fastener
- Cutter
Steps (8 steps, 60 minutes)
-
1
Gather all this
-
2
Cut margins to adapt scores to plastic folder and get rid of broken edges.
Then glue scores in line and cut one rectangle of the same size with organza and one with the other fabric. -
3
Turn scores and glue plastic folder to make back part of your bag stronger. Give another coat of spray glue and stick your "internal" fabric. (Again no picture of this, sorry!!)
-
4
Turn scores again and give 4 coats of spray vernish, wait 5 minutes between coats. This is a hand bag and we don't want to damage scores with damp or our perspiration!!
-
5
Give one glue coat and stick organza rectangle.
-
6
Sew bias around all perimeter.
-
7
Sew a fastener.
-
8
Dress to impress and buy some classic concert tickets.
After this project, we deserve it!!
