If you're like me and burn mixed CD's and want to listen to them, but hate how they get all torn and scratched when you're carrin' them around or fumble through all those jewel cases that are a pain to even open.. then you might like this project ;)

I found a box of these lying around, and since they're now a bit out-dated I thought I'd create something new with them. If you don't have any lying around you may want to check out re-sale computer stores or flea markets.
Next you will want to turn the disk upside down and pry open the sealed parts on one side only. I have chosen the top. I used a mini flat head screw driver You will also want to crease the edge of your opening both ways so it's easy to open and close.
Now you can take out the actual magnetic disk component. And to think this use to hold games like The Oregon Trail, which I use to play during elementary school.
What remains in the interior is a soft lining of cloth for protection. Perfect for your CD
Go ahead and slide the CD in to see how nice it fits. And if you like the plain black look of the CD case this can be your last step.
However, if you don't care too much for plain and boring I suggest decorating the case! I decided I liked the way the 3M sticker looked, so I kept it and decorated around it. I have used Deco Color opaque paint markers in green and orange.
And now you are finished! It also makes for interesting Demo CD holders for all those struggling musicians. What a way to stand out!
