I made these octopus to kill sometime. They came out looking very cute. I got the general design from my sister's tako doll. They each took about 5-6 hours to finish ( I work very slowly and take my time ... ) Very time consuming but worth it. :) So people have asked me on making a tutorial, so here it is. This is my first time writing a tutorial so if anything sounds confusing feel free to ask questions. :)

Start with a pattern for a 4 sided sphere. Trace the pattern. I did mine pretty close to each other since I do not like wasting the felt. This sphere will be the head of the octopus.
You should have four pieces that are the same size when you cut them apart. Sew the pieces together.
When you are done sewing them together remember to leave a side open.
So when you are finished with the sewing, flip it and fill it with any type of filling you prefer.
When you're done filling the ball to your liking, sew the opening shut. I used a ladder stitch, since it hides the stitching and looks better.
I made a pattern for the legs of the octopus which looks like a flower. To make the pattern I folded a piece of paper three times and then drew out one leg. I then cut out the leg with the paper still folded and when you unfold the paper, it should look like a flower with 8 petals. It took me a couple of tries before I got the correct size for the legs. I chose a different colored felt for the bottom of the octopus. I traced the pattern for the legs on the red felt and then pinned it together with the purple felt. I then cut both of the felt sheets.
I used a sewing machine to sew the 2 pieces of felt together which is why I only traced the pattern on one side.
When you're done sewing remember to leave an opening. I chose a corner between 2 legs because I found it easier to flip the felt in that area.
Stuff the legs and try to focus on legs before filling in the center of the body. When you are finished with that, close it up. I also used the ladder stitch for this. Stitching this part up was a little more difficult.
You should now have the head and legs. At this part I added eyes and a circle to the bottom of the center of the legs. For my other octopus', I had added small circles on each leg to represent suction-cups that octopus' have. It just adds to the details, but not necessary. For this part I used any felt that was left over. When you're done with that sew the head to the legs.
Once the head and legs are connected, you're finished! :)
