Finally a craft that is just as easy as it looks! So easy in fact, it's perfect for young helpers too. I made these years ago but just now found an easy video to teach you how to weave them. It's easy when you see it, just hard to explain. The link is posted below.

Draw your pattern on paper. It should be 1/2 of an oval. Lay it on the fold of your felt and cut two pieces. Each piece will be a long oval when you unfold it. I used Burgundy and cream but use any contrasting colors that make you happy!
Once your pieces are cut, make three additional cuts (on the fold)lengthwise on each piece. The first cut will be directly in the center, the other two will be equally on each side. Use your pattern as a guide for how long the lines should be cut.
Get ready to weave! I found this video that does an excellent job of showing how the weave works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQA333i52k0 I used tacky glue to secure the edges and add a handle. Use string to tie them across a wall for decoration or use as Christmas Ornaments or gifts for all sorts of special occasions.
