My friend Louise loves newts, so I made her this bracelet for her birthday.

You Will Need (7 things)

  • Hole Punch
  • Blue Tack
  • Scissors
  • Paper for template
  • Various Wooden Beads
  • Elastic
  • Black Shrink Plastic

Steps (7 steps, 20 minutes)

  1. 1

Trace around an image of a newt or download the PDF and use my template. Cut out the paper template.

  2. 2

Use blue tack to stick the paper template to the shrink plastic and cut around the template.

  3. 3

Use a hole punch to make small holes at either side of the newt.

  4. 4

Heat the shrink plastic newt down in an oven until small.

  5. 5

Cut a strand of elastic long enough to fit around your wrist twice and tie it through one side of the newt, so that it's in the middle. Tie a knot.

  6. 6

Slide on wooden beads, making a nice pattern as you go.

  7. 7

Knot the elastic through the other side of the newt and you're all done!
