My two-year-old sister models for me (: Well, i would make a how-to, but i didn't think to take pictures while i was making it since it was made over the course of a few days (it was an off-and-on project, so i put anytime on the clock). I'm kind of terrible at explaining things, but you can probably make sense of some of what i'm saying, haha. It isn't tooo difficult, but it is verry frustrating if your newspaper keeps ripping like mine did. First, take the newspaper and cover the whole thing with tape. You can do it on both sides if you want, but i only did one. This will be your "fabric." It's pretty easy to fold and stuff, so once you've got the shape you want, tape it down. You'll have to tape your pieces together instead of sewing them, because the sticky part of the tape makes the sewing needle jam. (That almost killed me. -___-) Now you can make the lining. I made mine red to match the bow. (I'll put a picture up soon) Okay, so the outside yoke of the bag can be any size, and i didn't really measure it, i just kinda went with what i felt fit the bag. Again, no machine sewing, >.< so i had to hand sew that part. (I'm also terrible at that). I made the bow by taking a large strip of fabric and bringing the two short ends into the middle. I pinched the middle and wrapped another strip of fabric in the middle. Boom- a bow. This was also hand sewn -__- Finally, the straps. Take two long strips of fabric (again, i don't really like to bother with measurements). Bring the long edges of the strips into the middle, and then fold them in half to hide the raw edge. Sew along the edge. Take the can tabs and string them onto the ends, just like beads. I put 5 on both sides, but you can use however many you want. Sew the straps on and Voila ! Newspaper bag ! --Sorry if that was realllly long and confusing. [Blaa, bad at explaining.]
