I made this as an anniversary present for my astronomy-freak boyfriend. One of his favorite planets is Neptune and I thought that it would be easier to recognize because of the cloudy thingy in it (don't know technical names). Anyways, this is done in a 30x40 cm canvas with Pebeo Studio acrylic paints, using synthetic brushes size 24, 16 and a 6 for the smaller details. To make the circle I used a stencil that I cut on a piece of paper. However some bits of paper got stuck to the paint and it was a pain in the ass to remove. You can't actually see it that well I'm the picture, but it has tiny start that we're made using an old toothbrush with white, purple and pink paint. I also used a reference picture of Neptune to try to get as many details as possible. I haven't his opinion cause out anniversary is in the 10, so he hasn't seen it yet. Any comments are greatly appreciated!
