Nekorific Gothic Lolita Hat

"Cat" themed tiny Lolita hat

Neko is the Japanese word for "cat" and is a popular fashion style amongst youth, especially in the virtual world Second Life. Whether you wear cat ears or not, this little hat has all the trimmings for a Gothic Lolita or a sweet Neko. The pattern on the nylon-cotton blend is black cats with an additional sparkle overlay on a purple background. The band is a strip of black rhinestones to resemble a cat collar. Black ribbon finishes the top rim and accents the back with a double-ribbon of multiple lengths. Gathered wide black lace rounds the bottom with black ribbon chin ties to secure it to the head. I toyed with the idea of putting a big black jewel on the front of the band to take the "cat collar" idea further, or some little felt or stuffed cat ears for the Neko theme. I may still do that but for now I think it's purrrfect! The internal structure is cardboard and posterboard. The exterior is nylon-cotton blend fabric, cotton fabric for the brim, and ribbon with rhinestones.
