Here's a sewing wallet I made from felt. I cut cardboard and then blanket stitched around the edges, using an additional small piece of felt as the binding. I created a needle holder on the left, and pins and scissor keeper on the right. Enjoy!

Sewing “Wallet” Tutorial Bear with me, as this is the first tutorial I have ever put together… Cut two pieces of cardboard to the size that you would like your wallet to be. Cut four pieces of felt, just slightly larger than the cardboard. (A little less than a ¼” more on each side.) Cut a piece of felt about 2/3 of the height of the cardboard and 3” wide. This will be the “spine” of your wallet. Cut a felt appliqué for the front of the wallet, a square piece of felt for the needle side of the inside, and a piece about half the height of the cardboard, and almost as wide for the scissor pocket. Putting it all together… Step one: Sew the appliqué on the piece of felt that will be the front cover. Step two: Sew the needle square onto the piece that will be on the inside left of the wallet. Step three: Sew the scissor pocket to the piece that will be the inside right of the wallet, leaving a v-spaced area in the middle to fit the scissors. Sew a small button in front of where the scissors will be and a length of felt with a slit cut in it over the scissor area to hold the scissors in the pocket (or they will fall out in transit). Step four: Sew the front cover and inside left piece around the first piece of cardboard using a blanket stitch. On the left side of the cover/right side of the needle page, insert the spine piece so that it is sewn into the cover. Step four: Sew the back cover and inside right piece around the second piece of cardboard using a blanket stitch. On the right side of the back cover/left side of the scissor page, insert the spine piece so that it is sewn into the cover. It should now look like a book. Sew a piece of elastic onto the back cover, and a button onto the front cover to be able to keep the book closed. Voila… it should be ready to store all your needles, pins and a pair of scissors! I’ve been toying with making another and putting a pocket on the back to include cards of floss – but I haven’t gotten around to that yet. Message me if it’s not clear or you need more instructions. Thanks!
