The famed galaxy nails.. surprisingly easy to do !

About

I've done galaxy nails a couple of times now and the initial prospect seemed rather daunting, but once I got going I was surprised to find out how easy it is to do, due to the forgiving nature of makeup sponges !
I've shown the time as a good two hours to do this design, as I find it always takes longer than you'd expect as you get carried away with the galaxy !

You Will Need (8 things)

  • Navy Blue Nail Varnish
  • Mint Green Nail Varnish
  • Blue Nail Varnish
  • Turquoise Nail Varnish
  • Glitter Nail Varnish
  • 1 White Nail Art Pen
  • Top Coat
  • Makeup Sponge

Steps (8 steps, 120 minutes)

  1. 1

Start with two coats of your base colour. I used Butter London Royal Navy.

  2. 2

Use a makeup sponge dab some white nail varnish on randomly. I used American Apparel T-Shirt.

  3. 3

Next, cover all the white with a mint green colour, using the same technique as in the previous step. I used American Apparel Office.

  4. 4

Dab on some dark blue nail varnish around the edges. I used China Glaze Man Hunt.

  5. 5

Randomly dab some turquoise polish over the mint green. For this I used Orly It's Up to Blue.

  6. 6

Now sponge on some glitter all over the nail. I used China Glaze Fairy Dust.

  7. 7

Using a white nail art pen or a nail art brush and white nail varnish, paint on some dots and small stars.

  8. 8

Add some top coat and that's it !
