My husband I and I went to ProgPower XI, a Progressive Metal concert and they have a corset photoshoot every year. It sounded like fun, I love corsets and love to sew, so I went for it! This was one of the tougher projects I've done. It has boning (the scariest part to sew) and lots of grommets and closures. I used a simplicity pattern and cut the basic sections of the corset. You tube tutorials were also very helpful. After cutting the fabrics, I kinda followed the pattern instructions and kinda winged it. I used a plastic boning material, which is not as sturdy as the metal kind, but it works well. A cool trick to prevent the plastic poking through your fabric is to melt the ends a little with a candle which smooths the sharp edges. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thank you for looking!
