I made this cake for a Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland-themed birthday party for myself. the "stem" is made from a Wilton Wondermold cake pan (the skirt part of a doll cake), with the sides shaved down a bit to get the shape i wanted. the "cap" is made from one of the Wilton Ball cake pans (half a circle) and shaved down a little too to get the right shape. it's all covered in fondant that i dyed with a little yellow and brown gel colors. then i mixed some of the brown with water and painted it all over. i used a paper towel to give some texture. the "moss" at the base is coconut flakes colored green and brown. the cake stand is a giant tea cup my mom found that i panted black, and turned upside down :)
