I was given a job by my Mum, she wanted a blanket to put along the bottom of the bed in the spare room. I had to have a fair bit of blue in it but apart from that I was given free rein so I took the basic idea of many many six sided shapes. I simply went and bought 3 balls of 4 ply cotton at a time in colours I like and used them up and then got another 3. I sometimes re-used a colour to bring it all together a bit - ususally the blue ones. I then edged each one in white and joined them all together - I love how it has turned out and tempted to do one for myself. Just ikeep going till you get to a size you like/want. It can take as long - be as big/small and as pri9cey/cheap as you like - very adaptable
