‘Mr Snake’ Knitted Scarf
Your very own Rattlesnake scarf!

About
I used multi-coloured wool for my snake scarf, as I thought it looked similar to snakeskin, once knitted up. If you are feeling daring, you can use different colours to create stripes, and even put a rattle in it’s tail, for your very own Rattlesnake scarf!

You Will Need (5 things)
- A big ball or 2 of Chunky Wool
- A pair of comedy Eyes
- 8mm Knitting Needles
- Red Felt
- 30 cm Ribbon
Steps (7 steps, 480 minutes)
-
1
Cast on 20 stitches, and using the basic knit one, purl one, knit until you have achieved your perfect snake length.
-
2
When you have got to a length you are happy with, start decreasing your stitches on each side, to create a point.
-
3
Once you are left with your basic scarf, stitch up the sides from the tail end, as though you are making a tube.
-
4
Around 8 inches from the end, you need to stop, and stitch around the tube to gather in and make your snake’s ‘neck’.
-
5
Do the same at the end, so you are left with a pocket, to fill with toy stuffing. You can then stitch this up, remembering to attach the eyes.
-
6
Once the head is finished, make a tongue with the red felt, and tie a smart bow around his neck.
-
7
Et voila, Mr Snakey, ready to wrap around your neck.
