Description

It's Mr. Buns, Ruby Gloom's special, one-of-a-kind friend! If you've never heard of Ruby then look her up- pretty much the cutest kids' cartoon and book series ever! Mr. Buns may appear to be just a stuffed sock, but watch out, because food has a mysterious way of disappearing when he's around.

Instructions

  1. Cut off the top of the sock, just above the heel. If your sock is a low rise ankle sock you can skip this step.

  2. Stuff your sock. Keep the stuffing loose so that the sock is still floppy. Sew up the top of the sock.

  3. Cut the face shape out of the white and red felt. If you're careful the white circle you cut out for the smaller eye can be used for the circle in the bigger eye. (I was not that careful, and couldn't find my hole punch until I didn't need it.) Glue the face to the toe end of the sock.

  4. Cut two ears, two arms, and two legs out of the black felt. The arms are longer than the legs and have 3 fingers. The legs are just tiny triangles. Sew these pieces to the sock.

  5. Sew the button into a good bellybutton position. If you want him to have a tail, sew the pom pom right over the seam you made in step 2. If you're going for authenticity, Mr. Buns isn't supposed to have a tail; I gave mine one because I like my bunnies to have them.

  6. Grab a pointy object- a paintbrush, toothpick, dry writing pen, dull pencil, sewing pin, small stud earring, small twig- whatever you've got. Use it to dot peach paint freckles onto Mr. Buns' face, low between his eyes. You can also put a bit of paint on a top corner of the red felt (in pictures this bit usually has a shine mark).

  7. Let the paint dry, and don't leave your cookies or cinnamon buns unattended!
