About

i had made presents for to say goodbye to my woman helpers and friends, but they were too girly to give them to men helpers and friends.
so... i made this manhood version,
One of them is fond of VW vans, he is of my age, and had told me a story that he found a hippy version of a vw van in Italy, on the last day of his vacation he would buy it.
but too bad, it was an italian holliday and ... he only could give it behind the window a good look.LOL
So i thought i will make a VW van for him, i found a knitting pattern, but... Gerard said to me, Jet you don't have the time for it.
So make something that yo can give others as well.
With sorting things out i found a nice picture of a vw van with a rocking band inside it.
I thought wooow this is what i can use.
Making the picture more costumized and prettier costed me the most time.
But i'm glad that i have made it, i think i will use it for more things...

note:
if you will make a picture of your own and will print it on transfer paper for tshirts , make the picture much lighter and first make a small print to test it.
The time is without the designing time.
i have forgotten to add grommets and grommet tool by the list of you will need!!!
You may use mine image design but please use it just for your own, not for selling.
And... if you want to use it for a good cause just ask me for permission;-D

I hope you like this and got inpiration of it to make your own versions , just have fun and be creative and crafty;-D
thank you for stopping by;-D

Steps (16 steps, 180 minutes)

  1. 1

Print your or mine design on the special paper.
Perhaps your design must made something lighter then normal.
    I did mine 12 % lighter.

  2. 2

Following the instructions of your package to ironing the printed design on the fabric.

  3. 3

Ironing the fuseable webbing on the left side of the printed fabric.

  4. 4

Cut the printed design smaller out of the fabric

  5. 5

The fabric that you will use for your background shape must be having on the left side a fuseable webbing as well.
So cut out the fuseable webbing and ironing it .

  6. 6

Outflank on the left side of the main fabric the pattern of your shape of the keyring with a pencil or a pen.

  7. 7

Cut out the desingns smaller nearby the picture and pin them down on the backgroud shape.

  8. 8

With the zig zag stich of your sewing machine sew the both parts together ,do this twice.

  9. 9

Pin the both shapes together with the right side on the right side.

  10. 10

Sew until the two pins down the tow pieces together with a normal stich on your sewing machine.

  11. 11

    Turn the inside out .

  12. 12

Make hole nearby the frontside of the van with your grommit tool . I used 3/16"

  13. 13

Set the grommit in the hole of your fabric.

  14. 14

Stuff your shape and pin the open side togehter.

  15. 15

Sew the outline of the shape around.

  16. 16

I have given the shape two layers of fabric stiffner so it's now more tough looking then ever.LOL
And it can stand all the weather conditions;-D
Connect two keyrings (a smaller and bigger one for) at the hole to make your keyring functional.
    And your done.!!!! yeeaah ,
use it your self or... wrap the keyrig for given it away.;-D

thank you very much for stopping by.
