Monkey Fist

decorative knot

That's not too difficult... The only tricky step is to adjust it. This knot was created to give weight to the end of a rope. I think it's interesting. You can attach it to your cell phone, pendrive, or backpack... You can make a keychain... Or hang it in your ear, neck... :o)

Instructions

I bought 1 meter of string (not nylon), and 2 beads (seriously: just two). It gave material for two attempts, and I've paid less than 50 cents So let us go

  2. Small foto0637 1296610905

Make three loops, not crossing the string. (You can wrap it in your hand)

  3. Small foto0638 1296611044

Pass the end through the middle and make three turns round the first turns

  4. Small foto0639 1296611386

    Adjust it

  5. Small foto0640 1296611465

Pass the end though the middle again, and make three turns wraping the turns of steps "3" and "4"

In this point you insert the bead in the "nest" formed by the wire. -> end of easy part <- lol

Now you'll have to tight the strings. Begin tighting little by little from the middle to the ends. If you do not lose your temper, you'll get there.

There'a another version in which you make a knot in one end and stuck it into the rest. In that case you'll have to tight this end first, after the middle and at last the other (free) end. It's more difficult and you'll have just one string attached to the monkey's fist
