When Dandelyne sent me one of their mini embroidery hoop kits the idea of making a mini pin cushion ring came straight to mind. The mini hoops were so adorable and I was really inspired to stitch a really cute design and turn it into a practical and cute ring.
When Dandelyne sent me one of their mini embroidery hoop kits the idea of making a mini pin cushion ring came straight to mind. The mini hoops were so adorable and I was really inspired to stitch a really cute design and turn it into a practical and cute ring.
For this you'll need a mini embroidery hoop and a ring base.
Trace the inside circle of your hoop onto a piece of paper.
Sketch out a cute design - I decided to use my pincushion for inspiration.
Cut a square of fabric large enough to fit in your hoop.
Transfer or trace your design onto the fabric and thread your needle with embroidery floss.
Start stitching your design.
Tie off any lose ends.
Cut a circle of foam to the same size as the back of your embroidery hoop.
Place the circle of foam inside your embroider hoop with your fabric on top so that the stitched design is nicely framed and tighten in place.
Glue the back on your embroidery hoop.
Glue your embroidery hoop onto the ring base.
Stick some pins in your pincushion and it's ready to wear and sew with!
