I've used this for a few christmas gifts this year, I just took wrapping paper and cut it to different sizes both large and small. Why wrap a box when you can just make the box with your wrapping paper?

Take a standard size piece of paper or cut some to the same dimensions.
Cut it in half lengthwise and trim one slightly on the end so it's a bit smaller, this will be the bottom half of the box.
Fold your paper in half, both ways.
Fold each end to the middle.
Now fold the end to the crease you just made.
Fold the other end to meet up to the last fold.
Repeat number 5 and 6 on the other side.
You should now have 8 equal sections on the top and the bottom half of the paper.
Fold one half to the middle.
On the other half fold from corner to corner. After you finish it's helpful to recrease the folds of each section.
Tuck one end into the other so that it overlaps by 3.
Now all the folds you did in step 10 gently push in, it will fold downward and look like this.
To help flatten the top turn it over and push down on the inside.
It should now look like this.
Fold the ends underneath to finish it off nicely.
The other half of the box is done the same way.
