Mini book earrings made with scrapbook paper scraps and white computer paper. These are hand bound with thread. You could do so much with these. You could use pages from your favorite book instead of printer paper or you could write your own message inside. Also you could print out the cover images of your favorite book and make a homage to Harry Potter or Sense and Sensibility :) Hopefully these instructions are clear as this is my first tutorial. Let me know if anything needs clarified.

Step 01: Cut out two pieces of thin cardboard (any scrap cardboard works) 4.5cm long by 2.75 cm wide.
step 02: Cut out 16 pieces of paper (8 for each book)for this book I used an old copy of The Iliad but you can use any type of paper you want. I cut these the same dimensions as the cardboard and then trim them a little on each side so they are slightly smaller.
Step 03: find the middle of your cardboard (should be about 2.3cm) and then draw a line 2 mm on either side
Step 04: fold the cardboard along these lines using a ruler for a strait edge.
Step 05: Line up and place 8 folded pages inside your book and then using something sharp to poke three holes in the centre of the book.
Step 06: Thread a needle and then bind your book. Start sewing from the back. thread from the top hole down, through the middle, and back up through the bottom hole. Keep sewing untill you run out of thread and then tie it off.
Step 07: take the paper for your cover and then position your book on the wrong side of the paper and draw this pattern. I do not have specific measurments for this, but I just make sure that the flaps are large enough to cover the inside cover of the book.
Step 08: Cut out this pattern and then make two notches where the spine of your book is. Make sure you cut them slightly above the actual spine of the book so that you don't leave bare cardboard exposed.
Step 09: place your book on top of your paper and glue down the tabs. Do one side at a time and glue down the top and bottom tabs before you glue down the side tab.
Step 10: This is what the book should look like at this stage. All that is left is to poke a hole in the top of the spine and put a jump ring through it.
Step 11: Now it is time to turn your little books into little earrings. You will need wire, wire cutters, needle nose pliers and then whatever beads you want.
Step 12: Cut a small length of wire and then twist it around the jump ring.
Step 13: Add your beads and then twist the wire closed at the top and add your earring hooky thing :) There you're done, well except for the other earring.
