This cuff can be made either by using an aluminium cuff blank like I have, or simply by stitching the peyote strip a little big longer and adding a clasp in the usual way. The choice is yours.

Description

This cuff can be made either by using an aluminium cuff blank like I have, or simply by stitching the peyote strip a little big longer and adding a clasp in the usual way. The choice is yours.

Instructions

  1. Following the graph, work in peyote stitch until you have a strip long enough to cover the outside of your bangle. Finish off any thread ends.

  2. Small 107043 2f2015 01 23 110339 step%2b3

Take the piece of ultrasuede and glue it to the inside of the cuff blank. Leave to dry.

  3. Small 107043 2f2015 01 23 110427 step%2b4a

When the glue has dried fold the sides of the ultrasuede around the cuff and trim the ends to leave about 1mm outside the edge of the cuff. Stitch the edges of the ultrasuede together taking care to make the ends neat. It is easiest if you start from the centre and work first towards one end, then towards the other.

  4. Small 107043 2f2015 01 23 110458 step%2b4c

Finish the ends with tiny stitches so they are unnoticeable.

  5. Small 107043 2f2015 01 23 110534 step%2b5

Finish off the thread ends by weaving them into the centre of the ultrasuede.

  6. Small 107043 2f2015 01 23 110749 millefiori%2bcuff

Take the peyote strip and wrap it around the outside of the cuff, holding it in place with the pegs. Thread the needle with a length of thread, attach it to the peyote strip, and stitch the beads to the cuff using small stitches. Add more thread if necessary. Finish off all the thread ends by weaving them through the beads. Your cuff is now ready to wear!
