I saw this gradient nail look by Mi.ezekatze and I decided to give it a try. She also gave me the tip on just cutting off a little piece of the sponge. So thanks! The colors I used are: A panther blue(like the Carolina Panthers(only description I can think of for this color)), from Rue 21 A darker almost greyish blue with purple and blue sparkles, from Hot Topic A bright purple, from Hot Topic And a kinda iridescent purple, from NYC Also, I'm just putting tricky as the difficulty, because it takes a little practice to get it to look right.

Gather all your suplies!!
Paint all you nails the lightest color you have. I had to do a few coats to get a solid color. Wait for the base to dry completely.
Now, tape you nails. This is just a precaution because it's kinda hard to clean up nails without messing up the polish on the nail.
Now get your sponge. I bought mine at the local grocery store, but you can find these almost anywhere they sell beauty projects.
Cut off a little piece.
Now paint the nail polish onto the sponge. Just do a little at a time because if you get too much it won't work very well.
Now, start patting the sponge on your nail. Start at the tip and press lightly when you get up toward your cuticle. This will create the fading effect. (I didn't even notice the Panthers jacket in the background. Ha ha!)
Repeat this with your other colors. Just make sure you keep putting the most color at the tip of the nail and applying less pressure as you move up.
Once you get all your colors done, let your nails dry and finish with a top coat. Now you can flaunt your awesome nails!
