This is a great project if you have scraps of fabric lying around with nothing better to do with them!
This is a great project if you have scraps of fabric lying around with nothing better to do with them!
Grab your supplies. You are going to need four pieces of fabric. You can use all the same color or up to four different colors. You will also need a contrasting color to be the inside of the flower. I used white for the flower petals and black for the inside. When it comes to hair pieces to attach it to, I like to use the little hair combs because I find that they stay in my hair, but use whatever form of hair clip you are comfortable with.
Make sure the four squares of fabric are all the same size. fold the four pieces together like a fan and then round off the edges (you can also make the edges points if you want sharper looking flower petals.) Hot glue the fabric for the center of the flower around the bundle of fabric.
You may have to hot glue the edges of the bottom petals together to retain the circular shape of the flower. Once the bottom petals are glued together, seperate and fluff the other petals to create a round and full flower.
Glue to the hair comb and let dry. Tease the section of your hair that you want to wear the flower in and then nsiert the comb and you are done! You can also make these with the tissue paper that real mexican flowers are made of, but the fabric is much more durable.
