Description

The mask on the picture has got a stick. The WIP-pictures are from another mask without a stick. If you wish I can make a tutorial for attaching a stick to the mask. =) You can use any kind of decoration, glitter, embossing powder, etc. There are no limits in colours and decoration! =)

Instructions

  1. Small step1

First you need to give your mask a basic colour. So take some paint and your paint brush and colour the whole mask (I coloured it with "Precious Metal Colour"). Wait until it´s completely dry. If it´s necessary paint it twice.

  2. Small step2

Now you have to know which parts you want to stay in basic colour and which parts you want to add the glitter/embossing powder to. Use a water-soluble pen or a pencil to draw the lines if you´re not sure about it. Now border the parts you want to decorate with glitter with the masking tape.

  3. Small step3

Cover the parts you just lined with glue. Use a lot of it! You have to be sure that there is glue everywhere. Then take your glitter or embossing powder and cover the glued areas with it. Wait until everythings dry and remove the excessive glitter/embossing powder. Then remove the tape. Of course you can add different kinds of glitter.

  4. Small step4

Your mask should be looking like this now. <--- Now it´s time to use your glitter glue! Use as much of it as you want. You can draw hearts, lines, curlicues...whatever you want to =)

  5. Your mask is almost ready now! Now take the clear lacquer and spray it all over the mask. Do not skip this Step!!! Otherwise the glitter will fall off, if you accidentally scratch it or if the mask gets a little wet. Wait until the lacquer is dry.

  6. Theoretical you´re done now. But it´s a little boring yet, isn´t it? So we´re going to add some more glamour ;) Take some feathers and strong glue! Attach the bunch of feathers to your mask and wait until the glue is dry. Then you need a decorative Button, or a big rhinestone to cover the place where the feathers end. (I used a fabric covered button with lace for this mask and a metal button with a half pearl for the mask on the main picture.) If you want you can continue adding little extras to your mask.

  7. Congratulations! You´re done! ;)
